Spring Cleaning Service
Our Spring Pool Cleaning Service aims to take your pool from how it looks to a state of perfection. Depending on how dirty the pool is, it can be a multi-day process which is why the price varies.
Estimating the Cost
In 2012 the average cost of a Spring clean in Ottawa was $254 (not including chemicals). The cost is calculated at $100 + $20 for each additional quarter hour. With two technicians it is assumed that they will work 75% faster; for example, two technicians working for 60 minutes * 1.75 = 1h45min.
Day One: Loosen all the algae from the pool's surfaces and treat the water with chlorine and 'Revive!' clarifier (normally 30 minutes).
Day Two: Let the pool water settle. If it rains or is extremely windy this stage will be extended to give extra time for the clarifier to work. The pool pump MUST not be turned on for the chemicals to work (especially with high algae levels).
Day Three (a): Small amount of debris.
Vacuum the pool on the drain setting to protect your pool filter (normally 30-60 minutes). Clean the scum lines. Wipe your pool equipment. Clean fiberglass steps. Skim. Test pool water, add chemicals (use your chemicals if available). Job complete.
Day Three (b): Many leaves or debris.
Vacuum the pool using our own pool pump (30-90 minutes). Continue steps from 3(a) unless there was severe amount of leaves mixed with algae; in this case we may repeat steps from 'day one' until visibility in restored.
Day Four: Water circulates for 12-24 hours
Day Five: Check the pool chemical balance and adjust (most people do this on their own).
Weekly & Bi-Weekly Cleaning
Cost: $65 - $80 per week depending on the size of your pool & additional features.\
- 12 x 24 or smaller ($65)
- 18 x 36 ($70)
- 20 x 40 or larger ($75)
- additional spa ($20)
As experts in pool maintenance we will ensure that your pool is in excellent condition on an ongoing basis. Care includes: water chemistry, vacuuming every week, skimming, wall brushing, empty baskets, back wash if necessary.
Bi-weekly visits (every two weeks) means that you are responsible for chlorine levels being regulated. With a salt water chlorine generator this shouldn't be an issue; otherwise you may be charged extra if we need to brush and shock algae (and your pool won't be clean as a result).
Cost: $55 / week
- Includes everything except for vacuuming
- Final week is $80 if you need a vacuuming prior to your return
- You can request this as a weekly service, best if you have an automatic cleaner
